“I’ve always wanted to do something for charity and now we can do it in his name. In Islam, the best thing you can do for someone who has passed away is to give to charity in their name. It’s really an idea that cuts across all faiths.”

The Moonlight Trust will raise money through cultural events and functions, along with direct donations from local business and individuals.The aim is to provide food, shelter, sanitation, medical supplies and basic education to the world’s neediest people.

Yesterday’s launch event celebrated cultural diversity with singing and dancing from around the world by performers from many ethnic and religious backgrounds, ranging from Irish singers to Saudi nasheeds (religious rhymes) and African dancers. There was also food, stalls and arts and crafts from many countries…….
