Emergency Covid-19 Response 20/21

In 2020 Moonlight Trust launched an emergency response to Covid-19. We provided essential food and care packages to thousands of vulnerable people across Dewsbury, Batley and Kirklees. Including the elderly, registered disabled, struggling families, homeless and those self-isolating under the category of vulnerable.

•With help from other charities, generous funders and donors, and the dedication of a first response team of over 50 volunteers, Moonlight Trust was able to:

•Work with five schools to support the provision of lunches.

•Collect leftover food from six other charities and food banks.

•Provide winter survival packs for the homeless

•Provide mental health/counselling and referral support.

•Support over 50 women from the BME community with crucial mental health, resilience and employability skills.

In total reaching over 3500 members of the community including the elderly, registered disabled, single parents, homeless, victims of domestic abuse and school children.

We want to extend a special thank you to One Community, Phoenix Fund, Dewsbury South Councillors, Covid Support Community Group and Heckmondwyke Grammar School. Donations and volunteers are what keeps us going.
